PGD Application

Dear Sir/Mam,

We (myself and my husband) are residing in Mohali at present. We have a very 2.6 yr old very sweet & cute daughter. And now we want to plan for a second baby. We really want a planned baby, in the sense that now we want a son to balance our family. We are strictly against the female feticide, as we consider it to be the biggest sin on this earth. So, we shall be thankful to you if you could help us to get a son with the PGD technique.

Sir, I have some queries which I believe you can answer:

1) Are there any side effects on the health of mother and baby (even minor)?
2) How much time it will take for the whole process?
3) What is the success rate?
4) How much we have to pay for it?

Sir, We are eagerly waiting for your reply and we want the baby as soon as possible.
With Best Regards!!

PREMATURE GREYING OF THE HAIR

The hair has a tendency to lose its natural colour with advancing age and turn grey, but premature greying is a morbid condition and it makes even the young look older. The hair is an appendage of the skin. It is composed of the same kinds of cells as are found in the outer layer of the skin, which is known as the epidermis. Hair grows from hair follicles which are deep recesses in the epidermis. The sebaceous glands of the scalp secrete an oily substance called sebum, which is the source of nutrition, lustre, and blackness of the hair. The hair cannot be fed externally, for such nourishment, as the scalp requires, must come to it from the bloodstream.
CAUSES
Faulty diet, Mental worries and lack of vitaminsA faulty diet and mental worries are the two primary causes of premature greying of hair. Lack of some of the B vitamins, iron, copper, and iodine in the daily diet is said to be a contributory factor. Mental worries produce extraordinary tension in the skin of the scalp; this interferes with the supply of vital nutrition necessary for the health of the hair.
Heredity, unclean condition of scalp etc: Other causes of premature greying of hair are an unclean condition of the scalp, washing the hair with hot water, drying it with an electric dryer, and use of hair dyes. Heredity is also a predisposing factor.
HOME REMEDIES
Indian Gooseberry: It is the first and foremost among the home remedies found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair. This is a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth and hair pigmentation. The fruit, cut into pieces, should be dried, preferably in shade. These pieces should be boiled in coconut oil till the solid matter becomes like charred dust. This darkish oil is very useful against premature greying. The water in which dried amla pieces have been soaked overnight is also nourishing for the hair. This water should be used for the last rinse while washing the hair. Massaging the scalp every night with a teaspoonful of amla juice, mixed with a teaspoon of almond oil and a few drops of lime juice, also proves beneficial in the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair.
Amaranth: Amaranth is another effective home remedy for hair disorders. Application of the fresh juice of the leaves of this vegetable helps the hair to retain its black colour and prevents it from premature greying. It also helps the growth of the hair and keeps it soft.
Curry Leaves: Liberal intake of curry leaves is considered beneficial in preventing premature greying of hair. These leaves have the property of providing vitality and strength to hair roots. New hair roots that grow are healthier and contain a normal pigment. These leaves may be squeezed in buttermilk. When the leaves are boiled in coconut oil, the oil forms an excellent hair tonic to stimulate hair growth and bring back hair pigmentation.
Ribbed Gourd:Ribbed gourd boiled in coconut oil is also an effective remedy for premature greying of hair. Pieces of this vegetable should be dried in the shade. These dried pieces should be soaked in coconut oil and kept aside for three or four days. The oil should then be boiled till the solid is reduced to a blackened residue. This oil should be massaged into the scalp. It will help enrich the hair roots and restore pigment to the hair.
Butter: The butter made from cow's milk has the property of preventing premature greying of hair. A small roll may be taken internally and a little quantity may be massaged into the hair roots twice a week.
Vitamins: The vitamins considered useful in guarding against premature greying of hair are pantothenic acid, para-aminobenzoic acid (paba), inositol. The minimum daily requirement of these vitamins appears to be 10 mg of pantothenic acid, 100 mg of para-aminobenzoic acid, and 2 gm of inositol. To obtain satisfactory results, all three of these vitamins belonging to the B group should be supplied at one time, preferably in a form which supplies all the B vitamins, such as yeast and liver. The three anti-greying-hair vitamins can also be produced in the intestinal tract by bacteria. Thus, taking a sufficient quantity of yoghurt daily and a tablespoonful of yeast before each meal is an excellent remedy for the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair. If one wishes to take tablets of calcium pantothenate and para-aminobenzoic acid (paba), they should be taken in addition to the yeast and yoghurt, and not as a substitute for them.
DIET
Take nutrients rich diet: Diet is of utmost importance in the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair and persons suffering from this disorder should take a diet rich in all essential nutrients.
Avoid devitalising foods, soft drinks etc: Devitalising foods such as white flour, refined sugar and all products made from them, soft drinks, pastries, jams and jellies should be avoided. These foods take away energy, cause wrinkles, unattractive skin, grey hair, and premature old age.
Dear in addition to above home remedies I would also like to tell you that Massage of scalp with almond oil is very beneficial and will make the action of above home remedies fast.

ABNORMAL NIPPLE DISCHARGE

As the breast is a gland, nipples may occasionally secrete fluids, even if you've never been pregnant. Cancer is rarely the underlying cause

Let me tell you something about the nipple discahrge:

One or both breasts may produce a nipple discharge, either spontaneously or when you squeeze your nipples or breasts. A nipple discharge may look milky, or it may be yellow, green, brown or bloody. The consistency of nipple discharge varies from thick and sticky to thin and watery.

Dear, be prepared with the answers to following questions before going to see your doctor:

1) What color is the discharge?
2) How much discharge is there?
3) Does it happen in one or both breasts?
4) Does the discharge appear to come from one opening in
your nipple or multiple openings?
5) Is the discharge spontaneous, or does it happen only
when you squeeze your nipple?
6) Do you have any other signs and symptoms, such as fever,
redness, pain in the breast, headaches or vision
changes?
7) Have you recently experienced an injury to the chest?
8) What medications do you take?

As it is better to be educated about our diseases, so I am explaining the possible causes of nipple discharge below:

1) Mammary duct ectasia. Mammary duct ectasia is one of the most common causes of abnormal nipple discharge. One or more of the ducts beneath your nipple becomes inflamed and clogged with a thick, sticky, green or black substance. You can relieve some of your symptoms by applying warm compresses to your breast. Taking aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, may help relieve some symptoms. Also, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics to clear up any infection. In some cases, surgery might be necessary to remove the affected duct.

2) Intraductal papilloma. Intraductal papilloma is a small, usually noncancerous (benign) growth that projects into a milk duct near your nipple. The discharge may be bloody or sticky and usually occurs spontaneously from one duct only, with manipulation of your nipple. You may notice staining or spotting from the discharge on your shirt or the inside of your bra. You may also feel a small lump behind and near the edge of your nipple. Your doctor may perform an ultrasound on your areola and the surrounding area to check for a nodule in a duct. Treatment involves surgical removal of the involved duct and examination of the tissue to rule out cancer.

3) Galactorrhea. The nipple discharge associated with galactorrhea is usually white or clear, but it could be yellow or green, and it may leak from one or both breasts. Galactorrhea occurs because your body is making too much prolactin — the hormone your brain produces to stimulate milk production after you have a baby. This also might happen if you have a hormonal imbalance, such as from taking birth control pills; an underactive thyroid gland; a tumor (prolactinoma) or other disorder of the pituitary gland; or chronic breast stimulation, such as from frequent breast self-exams or sexual activity.

4) Injury. A blunt trauma — for instance, the impact of the steering wheel in a car accident or a hard blow to your chest during sports — can cause nipple discharge in both your breasts. The nipple discharge results from tissue damage and may be clear, yellow or bloody. The discharge often occurs spontaneously and involves multiple ducts.

5) Abscess. Most common in lactating women, a breast abscess can happen when your nipples become irritated or infected from breast-feeding. A break or crack in your skin can allow bacteria to invade your breast tissue, causing an infection. The nipple discharge may contain pus, and the breast can become red, swollen and warm to the touch. Treatment involves surgically draining the abscess, and your doctor also may prescribe antibiotics.

6) Fibrocystic changes. Fibrocystic breast changes result in lumpy, tender breasts and can produce a clear, yellow or light green discharge from your nipples. Fibrocystic changes are very common, occurring to varying degrees in about half of all women. Your doctor may run some tests — such as a mammogram or an ultrasound — to make sure the discharge isn't caused by cancer. If the tests show fibrocystic changes as the underlying cause, no further treatment is necessary.

7) Breast cancer. Nipple discharge rarely is a sign of breast cancer, but it's possible that discharge may indicate cancer is present within a duct (intraductal breast cancer) or outside the duct (invasive breast cancer). See your doctor promptly for evaluation if your discharge is bloody, spontaneous and occurs in only one breast.

Another form of cancer — Paget's disease of the breast — also is associated with nipple discharge. Signs and symptoms include itching, burning, redness or scaling of the nipple and areola — the darker colored skin surrounding the nipple. You may also have a bloody discharge from the nipple, and the nipple may appear flattened against your breast. Your doctor can diagnose the disease by doing a biopsy of the affected area of the areola. Standard treatment is removal of the breast, but removal of just the breast tumor may sometimes be an option. Your doctor might recommend chemotherapy or radiation after surgery.

URINARY TRACT INFECTION

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is an encroachment by the bacteria of the urinary tract which includes kidney, ureters, bladder or urethra. This bacterium enters the opening of the urethra and procreates in the urinary tract causing urinary tract infection. This can be very painful and a major cause of distress in your life. If it is not contained in the earlier stages it is likely to spread to your kidneys, which can become a serious health issue.

SYMPTOMS:
1) Need to go – all time: A very common symptom which UTI patients face through this condition- is the constant urge to urinate.
2) Burning sensation and traces of blood: Urination is painful as well as leaves a burning sensation. Sometimes the sign is so relevant in the form of blood which is seen in your urine.
3) Fever, vomiting along with other pains: You may suffer from fever if you have infection in you kidneys. Bouts of vomiting and nausea are also possible if you are affected by the kidney infection. Backache and pain below your ribs are some of the other symptoms.

CAUSES:
1) Bacteria in the urethra is mainly caused when the bacteria from the digestive tract holds on to the opening of the urethra, this poses a problem.
2) During a sexual intercourse the bacteria present in the vaginal tract is pushed inside the urethra by the movement of the penis.
3) Having different sexual partners can be another reason for urinary tract infection.
4) Waiting too long to urinate may cause this infection.
5) Holding urine for a long time stretches the bladder. This stretching weakens the bladder - disallowing it to completely empty itself. The urine which remains in the bladder increases your chances of the infection.

HOME REMEDIES
1) Baking Soda: A mixture of 1/2 tsp baking soda in eight ounce glass of water can be very helpful on the first signs of urinary tract infection. The presence of baking soda in your system raises the acid-base balance of the acidic urine.
2) Drinking water or fluids: It is very important for your system to have a good flow of urine. This can be done by consuming plenty of water. It cleanses your body by diluting and flushing out the unwanted substance.
3) Cranberry Juice: Cranberry juice disallows bacteria to cling to the cell, which line the urinary tract. It is a great remedy to fight this infection. If you cannot have the cranberry juice directly you can mix it with apple juice to add some taste.
4) Aromatherapy: You can make an essential oil by using equal parts of sandalwood, bergamot, tea tree, frankincense and juniper. Mix all these ingredients to make an oil to be rubbed over your bladder area. Continue this massaging technique for three to four days once the symptoms subside.
5) Echinacea: You can consume at least two capsules three times a day of Echinacea and Oregon grape root or goldenseal to fight the infection.
6) Tincture: In acute cases try having 1/2 tsp of tincture every hour. Severe infection needs severe measures. Blend equal parts of pipsissewa, buchu, echinacea, and uva ursi tinctures. Have 20 drops of this blended mixture every two hours for first two days and later 1 tsp four times a day, till you have completely recovered. Have a soothing tea such as marshmallow root to counter the strong antiseptic effect of urva ursi.
DIET:
1) Increase the intake of vitamins C: Vitamin C prevents the bacterial growth due to the acidic environment created in the bladder and the urinary tract. It is very important to have a healthy diet which is rich in minerals and other supplements for your daily quota. You can maintain the alkaline content in urine by a rich diet of milk, fruits, and fresh vegetables.
2) Fresh berry juice: Consume fresh berry juice as part of the daily diet, turns out with great results in a long run.
3) Avoid irritant foods: A diet which consists of processed food like cheese, chocolate, dairy products should be avoided.
4) Avoid spicy food, caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes which otherwise is also harmful.
5) Avoid carbonated drinks like beer, soda or any other drink with fizz.
6) Stay away from artificial sweetener: Aspartame is one of a kind of artificial sweetener. You will find many artificial sweeteners in the market which should be avoided. It is mainly consumed by diabetic patients and is used in many beverages and other foods.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS
1) Hot compression: You can place a heating pad on the lower abdominal area to provide some relief to your pain.
2) Reflexology: Working on the bladder or kidney points can provide you some relief from this infection.
3) Dressing comfortably: Wearing loose-fitting and cotton clothes helps a great deal. Wearing tight undergarments and tight fitting clothes creates more room for infection.

POST POLIO SYNDROME (PPS)

Symptoms:
1) New muscle weakness in limbs that were originally affected or in limbs that didn't seem to have been affected at the time
2) General fatigue and exhaustion with minimal activity
3) MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN (I think this may be your problem, please consult with your local doctor for this concern)
4) Breathing or swallowing problems
5) Sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnea
6) Decreased tolerance of cold temperatures

Dear this problem is a very slowly progressing condition marked by long periods of stability. Its severity depends on the degree of the residual weakness and disability an individual has after the original polio attack. People who had only minimal symptoms from the original attack and subsequently develop PPS will most likely experience only mild PPS symptoms. People originally hit hard by the polio virus, who were left with severe residual weakness, may develop a more severe case of PPS with a greater loss of muscle function, difficulty in swallowing, and more periods of fatigue.

Prevention and Treatment:
Presently, no prevention has been found. It is recommended that polio survivors follow standard healthy lifestyle practices: CONSUMING A WELL-BALANCED DIET, EXERCISING IN MODERATION, AND VISITING A DOCTOR REGULARLY.

1) Energy conservation. This is probably the most important aspect of managing PPS. It involves pacing your physical activity and combining it with frequent rest periods to reduce fatigue. Assistive devices, such as a cane, walker, wheelchair or motor scooter, also can help you conserve energy.
2) Exercise. You should go in for less strenuous activities, such as swimming or water aerobics, that you perform every other day at a relaxed pace. EXERCISE TO MAINTAIN FITNESS IS IMPORTANT, BUT BE CAUTIOUS IN YOUR EXERCISE ROUTINE AND DAILY ACTIVITIES. AVOID OVERUSING YOUR MUSCLES AND JOINTS AND ATTEMPTING TO EXERCISE BEYOND THE POINT OF PAIN OR FATIGUE. Otherwise, you may need several days' rest to regain your strength.
3) Environment at home: Adjust the environment at home that it is safe and convenient for you. This may include installation of grab bars in the shower or a raised toilet seat. Your therapist may also help you rearrange furniture or rethink certain household or work-related tasks, decreasing the number of steps you must take and increasing your efficiency.
4) Stay warm. Cold increases muscle fatigue. Keep your home at a comfortable temperature and dress in layers, especially when you go out.
5) Avoid falls. Get rid of throw rugs and loose clutter on the floor, wear good shoes, and avoid slippery or icy surfaces.
6) Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet, stop smoking and decrease caffeine intake to keep fit, breathe easier and sleep better.
I AM WRITING THE FOLLOWING POINTS JUST FOR YOUR AWARENESS, I HOPE AND WISH YOU ARE NOT SUFFERING FROM ANY OF THEM
7) Speech therapy. I recommend you to consult a speech therapist who can tell you ways to compensate for swallowing difficulties (if there are any).
8) Sleep apnea treatment. Treatment for sleep apnea, which is common among people with PPS, may involve changing your sleeping patterns, such as avoiding sleeping on your back, or using a device that helps open up a blocked airway.
DEAR PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: It's not a crime to lean on your friends and family for support. In most cases, they're looking for ways to help you, and you can help them by telling them how. You may even consider joining a support group for people with PPS. Sometimes, just talking things over with people who have similar problems enables you to better cope with the challenges at hand.
Consult your local doctor immediately if you notice any of the above symptoms.

INFERTILITY

Hi Dear,
I have listed the causes of male and female infertility below. Just read them carefully and check whether you or your husband is suffering form any one or more of them. If the answer is yes then be strict and try to remove the causes of infertility first and then follow my recommendations because if the cause is not removed than no formula can act. BUT if the answer is no, then directly go to the measures that should be taken to improve fertility.
Some causes of Male Infertility: Improper shape and movement of the sperm, No Sperms in the testicles, Low sperm count, Varicocele - Varicose vein in the scrotum, Undescended testicle, Deficiency of testosterone, Due to some infection, Problems in ejaculation.
Some causes of Female Infertility: Inflammation of Fallopian tube, Ovulation disorders, Early Menopause.
Common Problems: Stress, Malnutrition, Obesity or underweight, Cancer and its treatment, Other medical problems, Thyroid problems, Medications, Age, Pesticide and Chemical, Smoking, Alcohol and drugs.
Dear, go through the following points thoroughly and be sure to apply them in your routine.
1) Get into proper shape by exercising and following a proper diet. As it very important to have a normal hormonal balance for the conception. Being over weight or under weight could just help your infertility woes.
2) Stop Smoking completely. It has been found that smoking cigarette decreases sperm count in men. Women who smoke could no longer conceive.
3) Avoid Alcohol. This too results in low sperm count. And is not good for women too.
4) Best position. It is not sexist, but man on top and woman lying down is the best position for conception. Once the ejaculation happen, women should lie for at least 5 minutes in the same position.
5) Use of Lubrication. Avoid petroleum jelly, K-Y jelly as these are known as sperm killers; instead use liquid paraffin which is available with most chemists.
6) You can use egg white as a vaginal lubricant to help your conception process. The optimum use can be made when the woman is fertile. Do not use it for treating vaginal dryness. Do not try this if you are allergic to eggs.
7) If you are having irregular periods it means you are not ovulating. Consult a doctor.
8) Do not douche as this may not help the conception procedure.
9) Keep testicles cool. Avoid tight clothes and close-fitting underwear.
10) Abstain for sometime from intercourse so that the sperm count increases. Daily intercourse can decrease the sperm count.
TREATMENT (I know that you will have to put in some efforts to follow my suggestions, but dear I tell you that if you follow them you will get your desire of becoming mother for the second time fulfilled very soon.)
1) Using Banyan Roots
The tender roots of the banyan tree are one of the valuable remedies found beneficial in the treatment of female sterility where there is no organic defect or congenital deformities. These roots should be dried in the shade and finely powdered. About twenty grams of this powder should be mixed with milk, which should be five times the weight of this powder, and taken at night for three consecutive nights after the monthly periods are over. When this remedy is administered, no other food should be eaten for a short while thereafter. This remedy should be repeated after the completion of the menstrual cycle every month till conception takes place.
2) Using Jambul Leaves
An infusion of the fresh tender leaves of Jambul fruit is an excellent remedy for sterility or miscarriage due to an ovarian or endometrium functional disorder. The infusion can be prepared by pouring 250 ml of boiling water over 20 gm of fresh Jambul leaves, and allowing it to steep for two hours. The infusion may be taken with either two teaspoons of honey or 200 ml of buttermilk.
3) Using Winter Cherry
The herb winter cherry is another valuable remedy found helpful in sterility. The herb should be powdered and six grams of this powder should be taken with one cup of milk for five to six nights after menstruation.
4) Using Nutrients
Certain nutrients, especially vitamins C and E, and zinc, have been found helpful in some cases of sterility. A woman who is unable to conceive should take 1000 mg of vitamin C, 100 I.U. of vitamin E and 30 mg of zinc daily.
DIET:
Seeds, nuts, curd and cottage cheese.
Physical debility and functional faults of organic nature can be cured by simple and effective methods of natural treatment, of which optimum nutrition is an essential part. Fasting is the best remedy for the treatment of disorders resulting from toxins in the system. A short fast of two or three day should be undertaken at regular intervals by women who are unable to bear children. Diet is an important factor in the treatment of infertility. It should contain seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits. These foods should be supplemented with milk, vegetable oils, and honey. Curd and cottage cheese are also recommended. About seventy to eighty per cent of the diet should consist of foods in their natural uncooked state, because cooking destroys much of the nutritional value of most foods. Sprouting is an excellent way of consuming seeds, beans, and grains in their raw form, as in the process of sprouting, the nutritional value is multiplied, new vitamins are created and the protein quality is improved.
Food to be avoided
I recommend you to avoid your best the following foods:
Excessive fat, spicy foods, strong tea, coffee, white sugar, white flour, refined cereals, flesh foods, greasy or fried foods.
OTHER PRECAUTIONS:
Warm water enema
The bowels should be cleansed by a warm-water enema during the period of fasting and afterwards when necessary. This will have a beneficial effect not only on the digestive system but also on the surrounding organs of the urinary and genital system.
Mud packs and cold water treatments
Other helpful measures in overcoming female sterility are mud packs and cold-water treatments like a hip bath and wet girdle pack. These treatments greatly improve internal circulation in the genital organs and relieve them of all kinds of inflammation and other abnormalities. Mud packs may be applied to the abdomen and sexual organs. The cold hip bath should be taken for ten minutes at a water temperature of 10degree C-18.3 degree C. For a wet girdle pack, a thin underwear wrung in cold water should be worn. Over this, a thick, dry cotton or woolen underwear should be worn. All cold treatments should be suspended during menstruation.

Important: You should find out the most fertile days during your menstrual cycle and indulge in baby making activity particularly on those days. If your menstrual cycles are regular then the following formula can help you. Just substract number 18 from your total cycle days. For example: If you have 30 days cycle, then substract 18 form 30 and you will get 12. It means your ovulation (most fertile period) will take place on any day from day 12 and one week onwards. You can indulge in baby making activity on 12th day, 14th day, 16th day and 18th day. (Note: also tell your husband not to indulge in any sexual activity or masturbation 2-3 days before your ovulation period, this will increase the sperm count and hence the chances of pregnancy.)

CANDIDA INFECTION

Candida albicans is the responsible fungus for Candida infection. This good bacteria that are normally found in our digestive system that can get harmful if found in any parts of the body. Overgrowth of Candida albicans can cause harmful signs and symptoms of a yeast infection. While it is not normally a dangerous dilemma, Candida can be quite irritating and uncomfortable to have.

Many home remedies are available today, while they have certainly been around long enough, this information is now easily researched through the internet. You do not have to look for more information as this article can help you battle yeast infection or Candida infection through regular items found in your home or garden.
1) Reducing the amount of sugar you ingest in your body can help treat the infection. Sugar should only be taken in small amount as it can increase the production of Candida albicans if taken in huge amount. It is advisable to follow a diabetic or low sugar diet.

Candida seems to thrive on high-sugar diets. So in order to “starve” the fungi, go on a low-to-no sugar diet, using sugar alternatives at best. Continue with this diet for as long as symptoms persist. In addition to the altered diet, make sure you receive sufficient doses of vitamins (A, B-complex, C) as well as minerals (iron and zinc).

2) Eating yogurt everyday can treat the infection. It is advisable to eat at least three to four glasses of yogurt a day, in less that two weeks your infection will be gone. Yogurt is also used as a topical vaginal Candida treatment. Keep it over the affected area for a period of time or overnight and then wash off well. Also the yogurt will lend a soothing effect and relieve severe itching and weeping. If applying for a shorter period of time, apply two to three times a day. If this treatment with yogurt does not effectively remove your symptoms. Make sure it has absolutely no sugar and other ingredients added to it. The yogurt should contain live lactobacillus acidophilus, which are good bacteria that keep candida albicans in check. This is a proven treatment for years.

3) Keep affected area clean and dry.

4) Take cranberry juice liberally. Regular intake can help cure the infection as it has an anti bacterial property that can eliminate the signs and symptoms of yeast infection of Candida infection.

5) Acidophilus treatment is also advised. There are many type of acidophilus like powered acidophilus, fruit flavored liquid acidophilus, caplets acidophilus topical and chewable.

6) Garlic is proven as a powerful anti bacterial agent; it can also be used in the treatment for Candida infection. All you need to do is to wrap it on the gauze pad and keep it over the infected area for a long period of time or do it many times a day. With everyday use for three to six days, you will be cured from the Candida infection.

7) Tea tree oil is also a proven treatment. Use it together with garlic for more effective outcome. It smells like eucalyptus and it will effectively treat your Candida infection.

8) It is more advisable to wear non-fitting panties, especially that made form nylon. These prevent proper aeration (breathing) of the skin. It encourages moisture to form in the body, which is prime breeding ground for fungi. You should allow air to come in to avoid more production of Candida albicans.

9) Shave your pubic hair as it can invite more bacteria to dwell in. without the pubic hair on, there will be less chance of growing more bacteria.

10) Don't use deodorants or perfumed soaps when washing the external area. You can strip the body of the natural elements that keep the fungus in check. At best, use plain water or a mild, pH-balanced cleanser.

11) Drink plenty of water to keep the body cool and to flush out toxins (including those produced by the candida fungus) out of your body.

12) Have a good number of servings of bananas, yogurt, and garlic. These foods have been found to have lots of anti-fungal properties and if part of your regular diet, the chances of getting rid of the candida infection becomes more bright.

13) Do not skip meals and avoid keeping your stomach empty for long periods of time. You wreak havoc on a body that function best when working on routine time. Having irregular eating habits have been observed to increase the chances of candida overgrowth.
These are the simple home remedies for Candida infection. Follow the instructions carefully and religiously and I believe that you will be able to cure your husband in a very short period of time.

ANOREXIA

Anorexia (loss of appetite) means loss of appetite. It is a symptom of disturbed digestion and common in all diseases which lead to general weakness. This condition results from failure of the activity of the stomach and secretion of gastric juices due to low vitality.

Symptoms: Persons suffering from anorexia refuses to eat and suffer from insomnia (loss of sleep/ reduced sleep). In course of time, emaciation becomes severe.

TREATMENT OF ANOREXIA WITH HOME REMEDIES:
1) Using Oranges:
Oranges are an extremely useful remedy for anorexia. They stimulate the flow of digestive juices, thereby improving digestion and increasing appetite. One or two oranges a day are advised.
2) Using Sour Grapes
Sour grapes are another effective remedy for anorexia. The juice of these grapes should be used in kneading the flour before preparing chapattis (after kneading the flour with sour grape juice, make small balls of that flour and flatten them with a pin/a rounded stick. Bake it.). Chapatis made in this manner should be eaten continuously for two to three weeks. This remedy will tone up the stomach and improve the appetite.
3) Using Lime
Lime is also a valuable remedy for restoring a lost appetite. A preparation made from this fruit and ginger has been found very effective in overcoming this condition. About one teaspoon of the juice of lime should be mixed with an equal quantity of the juice of ginger. One gram of rock salt should be added to this mixture. It should then be placed in sunlight for three days. A teaspoon taken after each meal will tone up the digestive system and improve the appetite.
4) Using Apples (very important and effective)
Apples are another variety of fruit useful in anorexia. They help digestion by stimulating the flow of pepsin, a protein digesting enzyme, in the stomach. The old adage, 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away', is certainly a valuable one.
5) Anorexia treatment using Garlic (very important and effective)
Garlic possesses a special property to stimulate the digestive tone of the system and improve appetite. A soup prepared from this vegetable can be of immense help to a patient suffering from anorexia. Three or four cloves of raw garlic should be boiled in a cup of water. This soup can be reinforced with the juice of half a lemon and taken twice daily.
6) Anorexia treatment using Ginger (very important and effective)
The use of ginger is valuable in the loss of appetite. About five grams of this vegetable should be ground and licked with a little salt once a day for the treatment of this condition.

DIET:
Orange juice and water
The only effective treatment for anorexia is a thorough cleansing of the digestive tract, and adoption of a sensible diet thereafter, along with a change in the style of living. To begin with, the patient should fast on orange juice and water for three to five days. The procedure is to take the juice of an orange in a glass of warm water, every two hours, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nothing else should be taken, as otherwise, the value of the fast will be entirely lost. If orange juice does not agree with the system, only water or half a glass of carrot juice mixed with an equal quantity of water may be taken.
All-fruit diet
After the juice fast, the patient may adopt an all-fruit diet for a further five days, taking three meals a day of juicy fruits, such as apples, pears, grapes, grape-fruit, oranges, pineapple, peaches, and melons, at five-hourly intervals.
Restricted diet of cooked vegetables, juicy fruits etc
Thereafter he may adopt a restricted diet of easily-digestible foods, consisting of lightly cooked vegetables, juicy fruits, and buttermilk for about ten days.

Other Anorexia treatments
Warm-water enema
During the first three to five days of the juice fast, the bowels should be cleansed with a warm-water enema each day. The poisonous matter will thus be eliminated by this self cleansing process.
Ice bag application on stomach
The application of an ice-bag over the stomach for half an hour before meals, and a cool hip bath once or twice daily, will go a long way in curing anorexia.
Cool hip bath, Sun and cool air bath
Other measures beneficial in the treatment of this condition are sun and cool air baths. An early morning sun bath, taken one day, should be alternated with an early morning cool air bath the next day. An outdoor life and abdominal massages are also advised.

SORENESS OF BREAST - Its causes, symptom relief and diet

Causes of breast tenderness, Symptom Relief and Diet in Breast Tenderness
Some causes for sore breasts are:

1. PMS. Many women suffer from sore breasts when suffering from pre-menstrual syndrome, often starting a full week before the period begins. Some women find relief once their period starts, other women continue to suffer pain throughout their menstrual cycle.

2. Fibrocystic breast disease.

3. Hormone Therapy. This is generally estrogen therapy given to women going through menopause.

4. The birth control pill. Some women find that birth control relieves their breast tenderness, for some women it is worse. Generally the birth control is perscribed to help the symptoms of breast tenderness associated with fibrocystic breast disease. If you are on birth control and have breast tenderness, check with your doctor to see if there is a different pill you can take.

5. Pregnancy. It is common for women to experience intense breast tenderness and swelling in pregnancy, especially during the first trimester. When seeking relief, stick with the more natural remedies, but check with your doctor before taking any pain killers.

editSymptom Relief
There are a few things you can do to relive the discomfort of tenderness and swelling of the breats.

Wear good breast support. Make sure to wear a good bra with support. Not wearing a bra can make breast tenderness worse, regardless of breast size. This is especially important during exercise. Bras/support will help to make breasts feel contained, helping to minimize soreness.
Exercise. Sometimes just getting outside and moving around can help to relieve breast pain. Making exercise a regular part of your daily regimen, can help to relieve many symptoms of PMS.
Hot or cold treatments. Some women feel better icing their breasts to relieve the pain. Others say heat and hot pads make a difference. Try them out and see which is best for you.
Ibuprofen. Taking a pain reliever right before your period can make a difference in relieving cramps, breast pain and swelling. However, it is not recommended to take a pain reliever regularly, so limit it to key times of the month. Note, that ibuprofen should not be taken if you are pregnant.
Change hormones.Check with your doctor about changing your birth control pill or your hormone replacement therapy if this applies to your situation.
Visualization and breath-work. Imagining your breasts in a weightless state, in warm gentle heat or something like that helps many women minimize the breast pain. Deep breath work can help too.
editDiet and breast tenderness
There is no doubt that diet makes a difference for breast pain. Some foods are known to trigger pain for some women and not others. Review this list of key suspects, and try eliminating one at a time to see if your symptoms improve.

Salt. Too much salt and sodium is known to make breast tenderness worse. This leads to additional water-retention and swelling which then leads to additional breast pain. Try to eliminate high sodium foods from your diet at least a week before your cycle begins.
Fat. Studies have shown that women who limit high fat foods in their diet have a serious decrease in breast pain. Eliminating heavy fats and animal products can lend to greater overall health which should help to minimize all PMS symptoms.
Sugar. For many people sugar contributes to breast tenderness and to the 'ropey' feel that breast often get the week before menstruation begins.
Caffeine. Many women complain that caffeine can make breast tenderness worse. In fact, caffeine generally contributes to breast lumpiness at any time of the month. It is especially recommended to avoid caffeine all month round if you have lumpy breats, and for the week leading up to your period if you only have breat pain.
Move excess fluid from the body. It is important to drink lots of water to help remove the excess fluid from your body. And it is also helpful to take an natural diuretic to help the body flush excess water out.
Add B, E and A vitamins. Studies suggest that taking a multi can help with PMS symptoms and thus breat tenderness. There is a likely a link between the intake of the B-6 vitamin and body's ability to metabolize estrogen.

SINUSITIS

1) Liberal use of mangoes during the season is considered an effective remedy for prevention and treatment of sinusitis. Mangoes contribute towards formation of healthy epithelium, thereby preventing frequent attacks of common infections like sinusitis.
2) The use of pungent foods like garlic and onion is one of the most effective remedies for sinus problems. Use in regular meals.
3) The seeds of fenugreek are another effective remedy for sinusitis. A tea prepared by boiling one teaspoon of seeds in 250 ml of water till it is reduced to half, will help the body to produce perspiration, dispel toxicity, and shorten the period of fever in the acute stage of the disease. Upto four cups should be taken daily. The quantity should be reduced as the condition improves.
4) Teaspoon of black cumin seeds tied in a thin cotton cloth can provide relief when inhaled. The condition can also be relieved by taking a mixture of 100 gm of roasted and ground cumin seeds and 200 gm of pure honey.
5) Carrot juice, taken separately or in combination with juices of beet and cucumber, or with spinach juice, has been found beneficial in the treatment of sinus trouble. In the case of combined juices, 100 ml each of beet and cucumber juices, or 200 ml of spinach juice, should be mixed with 300ml of carrot juice to make 500 ml or half a litre of the mixed juice.
6) A diet rich in vitamin A is the best insurance against cold and sinus trouble. Some of the valuable sources of this vitamin are whole milk, curds, egg yolk, pumpkin, carrots, leafy vegetables, tomatoes, mangoes, and papaya. When the sinus trouble has already developed, relief can be obtained by taking vitamin A in large therapeutic doses of 25,000 IU per day. Vitamin C has also proved beneficial in the treatment of sinusitis and the patient should take one gram of this vitamin per day in two therapeutic doses of 500 mg each

Diet:
1) In the acute stage of the disease, when fever is present, the patient should abstain from all solid foods and drink only fresh fruit and vegetable juices diluted with warm water on a 50:50 basis.
2) After the fever subsides, he may adopt a low-calorie, raw fruit and vegetable diet with plenty of raw juices. Once the acute symptoms are over, the patient may gradually embark upon a well-balanced diet, with emphasis on seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits. In persistent chronic conditions, repeated short juice fasts may be undertaken for a week or so at intervals of two months.
3) A cold application over the sinus will give great relief, while alternate hot and cold applications also prove beneficial. Take pans of hot and cold water, bathe the whole face with hot water as hot as you can bear-and then apply cold water for a short duration.
4) Nasal inhalation of steam for five minutes every hour will also give relief. Plenty of sleep, adequate rest, and fresh air are essential in the treatment of sinus trouble.
Avoid:
Try and avoid fried and starchy foods, white sugar, white floor, rice, macaroni products, pies, cakes, and candies.

COLITIS

For colitis you can use the following home remedies:
1) Take a glass of buttermilk daily (residual liquid left over after the fat has been removed from curd by churning).
2) Drink the water of one tender coconut daily, it is soothing for intestinal mucosa.
3) Steamed apples also aid the healing of lucerative lesions due to ample concentration of iron and phosphorus.
4) Drumsticks are also useful in colitis. A teaspoon of fresh leaf juice, mixed with an equal quantity of honey and a glass of tender coconut water, is given two or three times daily as a herbal medicine for the treatment of this disease.
5) Rice has a very low fibre content, and is, therefore, extremely soothing in colitis. A thick gruel of rice mixed with a glass of buttermilk and a ripe banana, given twice a day, forms a very nutritious, well-balanced diet in this disease.
6) Have steamed vegetables, home made cottage cheese etc.
7) Avoid citrus juice, white sugar, highly seasoned foods, highly salted foods, strong tea, coffee, and alcoholic beverages; and foods cooked in aluminum pans.

PNEUMONIA

FOR PNEUMONIA:

1) Drink plenty of fluids. This aids the immune system and helps loosen lung congestion.

2) Take analgesics for pain. Your chest muscles may become sore from coughing and the added effort of breathing, and your body will feel achy from fighting infection.

3) Rest. If you have pneumonia, get at least eight hours of sleep each night, and take a midday catnap.

4) Take an expectorant, like guaifenesin, to bring up sputum.

5) Avoid cigarette smoke and irritants in the air, and stay away from people who are sick. Your immune system is already working overtime.

6) Wear a mask when you go outside in the cold air. Fresh air is healthful to your lungs, but cold air is not.

7) Humidify the air in your house with a vaporizer. Sit in a hot shower or bath.

8) Check your temperature once a day. Any sudden spike should be reported to your doctor.

9) Take lots of deep breaths. Inhale as much air as your lungs can take in, and then hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds. Exhale forcefully, but steadily. Repeat this 10 times. Do deep breathing exercises at least five times a day.

10) Apply a heating pad to your chest if muscles feel sore and achy.

11) Take it easy. Chores will still be there after you get well. If you push yourself while you have pneumonia, you may lengthen your recovery time by two or three months.

12) Avoid dairy products if you find that they cause your mucus to thicken.

13) Reduce activity until your cough is gone.

A gratitude journal, in which you list 3 things every day that are good in your life, can be a powerful tool for self healing.

Close your eyes and envision yourself in a moment of happiness and health. Sense every part of your body. Visualize your healthy self from inside and out. Practice visualization in the morning before you start your day and at night before you go to sleep.

Asthma Cures
Asthma treatment using Honey
Honey is one of the most common home remedies for asthma. It is said that if a jug of honey is held under the nose of an asthma patient and he inhales the air that comes into contact with it, he starts breathing easier and deeper.
Asthma treatment using Figs
Among fruits, figs have proved very valuable in asthma. They give comfort to the patient by draining off the phlegm. Three or four dry figs should be cleaned thoroughly with warm water and soaked overnight.
Asthma treatment using Lemon
Lemon is another fruit found beneficial in the treatment of asthma. The juice of one lemon, diluted in a glass of water and taken with meals, will bring good results
Asthma treatment using Indian Gooseberry

Asthma treatment using Drumstick Leaves
A soup prepared from drumstick leaves, and taken once daily, has been found beneficial in the treatment of asthma. This soup is prepared by adding a handful of leaves to 180ml of water and boiling it for five minutes. After being allowed to cool, a little salt, pepper, and lime juice may be added to this soup.
Asthma treatment using Ginger
A teaspoon of fresh ginger juice, mixed with a cup of fenugreek decoction and honey to taste, acts as an excellent expectorant in cases of asthma. The decoction of fenugreek can be made by mixing one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cupful of water. This remedy should be taken once in the morning and once in the evening.
